My friend Carole http://carolescraftycorner.blogspot.com/2010/11/christmas-journal-2010.html who's very creative blog is well worth a look at decided that this year she was going to journal her Christmas from the 1st of December till the 6th January. Well I love Christmas and thought what a fab idea, so asked Carole if she minded me playing along, she was more than pleased to have a play mate, and in fact we have some other friends who are playing along as well, but i will leave them to tell you who they are.
Well I had just the ideal journal ready to use A Brenda Pinnock I believe card keeper from 2007, which had been sat waiting to be altered However I felt it need a little bit of jazzing up and then I was good to go. I also altered the inside front and back cover to contain pockets. I am all eager to go on this one. So its only 9th November ...its beginning to look a lot like Christmas :)
The journal after a little jazzing up. It did not need much I added some red, purple ribbon, some black lace a tag and three bells in red, green and purple to match the baubles
I used to enjoy crafting as a child. My friend and I made scrapbooks, cutting out dogs and cats from old cards and newspapers. We knitted with scraps of wool or unpicked jumpers. I learnt to crochet and have made many things. I have now moved on to scrapbooking, card makings atc's altered tins, mini books tag books I have also taken part in three circle journals

My first experimentation's with Acyclic tags
Last Christmas I was given as part of my Christmas box of goodies, from my wonderful and very talented crafting friend Elaine some acyclic tags. Now they have sat in my little basket of to be alter items, waiting for the inspiration to come, ok the inspiration took 10 months to arrive, but arrive it did. So what did I decide to do with them I took out fairly big, little tag, isn't that an oxymoron?. I then decided to stamp with them with a background stamp, any stamp would do for this I used black staz- on in to do it with. I then found a photo of an eagle I had printed out for a layout and never used, well I hate waste so I stuck that on the oblong tag on same side I stamped, I used silicone glue, I not sure if you should, but I did. I then used thin black card and stuck that to the back of the photo, one reason was to give it a neat finish the other was to make it pop more on viewing I then added some wire and beads and a little bit of ribbon and hey presto a handbag tag or craft bag tag, a nice little gift. The second tag I used a image from a sheet of images also given in my box of Christmas goodies. I must admit to having a bit of help with the beading as my hand would not let me thread them but the ideas were mine and hubby helped he he Credit where credits due.
I am still working on the one stamp how many ways I have made 1o items so far number 11 is being made today I might unveil at that point lol but then again I might carry on as I have just thought of another idea, as I type.

Black and White is so on trend I decided to make some card using Black and white
I used different shades of Black, Brillance lightening Black, Staz on Jet Black, water colour pencil Black, and Distress ink soot black, its amazing how different blacks look so different, and give various tones of the same colour.
9th October Visit to Happy Stampers at Port Sunlight
Last weekend My friend Elaine, hubbie and I all went to Happy stampers, what a wonderful day we had and came back with loads of new stash to play with
My favourite stamp of the day had to be this one .
One of the things my friend and I both got from Happy Stampers, was a grab bag of small rubber stamps, you could only see what the first stamp in the pack was, so we were curious to know what else was in the bag, and it reminded us of the old lucky bag (do you remember those) so we had to have one each. We set each other a challenge to use each one of the stamps in the grab bag and see what we came up with. In the grab bag were six stamps, not a clue what I will do with them yet but here they are for you to see
