I needed a Mans Birthday Card

Its my friends husbands birthday on the 3rd December, I wanted to make her husband a really special card but was not sure what to do. So I started to think about the kind of things he like to do, well the thing he likes most is to potter in his shed, so I came up with this card which should give him a giggle
I do hope he likes it.

Re Wrapping Soap....

For Christmas this year I am making three pamper baskets of assorted items for friends. I purchased three soaps to go into theses baskets from a well know supermarket, however they looked rather boring as they were so I decided to try to make them look a little more excited by re wrapping them I added a skeleton leaf, some string and a button to each then re wrapped them in clear cellophane. I was quite pleased with the results and they made ordinary soap, which strangely enough had a leaf shape on when opened look much more gift like

Napkin Crafting

I was watching QVC the other day and was interested in Napkin Collage Kit however I did think it was a little expensive, so I had a little think and decided I could do similar with just ordinary napkins, there are so many pretty ones about, also I knew we had some nice flowery one in the kitchen. I used just a quarter of one napkins to cover my white tag.

First I cut the napkin into four, then I separated the layers to leave just the top one. I then modge podged a plain white tag and placed the napkin on top I modge podged over it all and left it to dry. I then stamped when not quite dry onto tag to get a misty effect to the stamping. I choose to stamp clock dials over the base to add depth to the project.   I then added a butterfly I had cut out and stuck on card  from the napkin. I also stamped over the butterfly for added texture.  I added embellishments to compliment the design and finally some string to hang the tag from a bag with. I love this method of crafting and will certainly be having another play with it I must look out for all those christmas Napkins :)

Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas.... Christmas Journal 2010

My friend Carole http://carolescraftycorner.blogspot.com/2010/11/christmas-journal-2010.html who's very creative blog is well worth a look at decided that this year she was going to journal her Christmas from the 1st of December till the 6th January. Well I love Christmas and thought what a fab idea, so asked Carole if she minded me playing along, she was more than pleased to have a play mate, and in fact we have some other friends who are playing along as well, but i will leave them to tell you who they are.

Well I had just the ideal journal ready to use A Brenda Pinnock I believe card keeper from 2007, which had been sat waiting to be altered However I felt it need a little bit of jazzing up and then I was good to go. I also altered the inside front and back cover to contain pockets. I am all eager to go on this one. So its only 9th November ...its beginning to look a lot like Christmas :)

The journal after a little jazzing up. It did not need much I added some red, purple ribbon, some black lace a tag and three bells in red, green and purple to match the baubles
