This months Layout challenge on the Docraft forum was set by Gina The challenge is to use a
picture of a bird or birds. (photo/hand drawn/painted) your choice.
DRAMATIC decoupage of flowers, bright summer colours.
your own title
a poem (your own or copied)
hand drawn doodles and scrolls.
the aim is for it to be seen 20yrds away. and full of summer colours.
I manged all apart from the title which I might add on window frame of LO later. I made the background using a plain white piece of paper I used a piece of wet and dry that hubby cut of main block for me about about an inch and half by and inch, which I put into brown, red, and black ink pads I then pressed it onto the paper to form a brick wall background. I then did in between the brick with brown for mortar. The photograph was printed out on handmade paper to give it a more textured and almost material appearance, which I am not sure the camera, or my photography abilities will pick up, but I am pleased with the results of it. I made a window frame out of wood effect paper. The window box at the bottom was made from hand crafted pink paper, which I inked over with brown.. I used leaves I cut out with my big shot and also loads of flowers which I made some time ago and can be found on an older post on my blog I also cut out a little bird, well quite big bird using a sizzix die and added that to the bottom right corner ( the swirls are o its wing Gina lol). I then added my poem on a tag, and used fluffy stuff and liquid pearls to add berries to flowers for eye popping requirements of LO, I hope its eye popping enough ...lol , then I thought I best stop adding and call it done.
