Tis the season ...

To make lots of Christmas cards I love making and receiving hand crafted cards :)

I took the photos of them in there storage bags which I like to use to keep the cards nice and clean and also I can let people look and handle them that way without them become dirty and tatty.

WooHoo ! I won the card competition at Happy Stampers

The theme we were given was photography, the card base had to be 6" x 6" using colour inks from sepia to latte We were being judged on stamping so the main images had to be stamped. I spent all day doing two cards to enter you are allowed to enter two. I used Tim Holtz artisty collection stamps

The card I won with was the second card with the film strip down the side of it I cut out all the little squares and added in cut out photos from the main image I used to look like photo negatives. I was so chuffed as I never expected to win the ccompetition as the level of entries to the competition are always very high

My  Winning stash ...

I took the last photo's so I could print it out to scrapbook my wonderful day at Happy stampers made even more special by winning the card competition  I purchased lots of new stash as well, and got to sit and watch lots of demos during the day. I did get rather badly banged in my back which was very painful at one stage (due to existing medical issues) and ended up sat with the first aid group having a drink and recovering (thank you to the nice lady who looked after me)

Happy stampers is always a wonderful show to go it it held in the Wirrel at a place called Port Sunlight, which was built for the workers of the soap factory. The houses now are all privately owned The garden surrounding port sunlight are delightful at any time of year but look there best in spring and summer when they are full of tulip bulbs in spring, and roses in summer. There is also a wonder garden center and museum and art gallery in the area.

Fallen Leaves

When reading my copy of craft stamper I came across a design by Jean Franks Beck using fallen leaves, I loved it so much I wanted to have a go. My grandson picked up some leaves for me and I was good to go I did not have any tissue paper which was what Jean had used so I used Toilet paper which worked quite well

Jeans design which is a mini book

My version which I made into an Autumn card for my husband and he can leave it up all Autumn, I must say he loved it My heart shaped leave is rubber stamp and I put it on sideways onto the page it also meant I was using another one of my stamps for my friend and I stamp challenge

Have you used every single rubber/acrylic other stamp you have purchased

One of my friends and I were discussing how to store wooden based rubber stamps, well my storage of choice are the 12x12 boxes intended for paper but fab for storage of rubber stamps well 14 boxes later my wooden based stamps are stored.

While added them to the boxes I realised I had not used a great many of y stamps, my friend was just the same so our challenge to each other is to use every one of our rubber stamps at least once, they can be used on cards, LO's, ATC's. alter art, bookmarks, tags the list is as endless as your imagination We are also going to use all our other stamps in the same way I am on box one and will add some of my creations for you to see shortly I am making a list of the ones I have used and what I have made with them as I go along
I am also including stencils I have purchased these are my the first batch all cards.

This is what I did with my feathers

I wanted to make a giant size tag, the one I have made measures 14x10and a half inches. I first of all cover the card with white paper I used inserts out of 12x12 album
I started by inking up the edges of the page, green of cause lol

I then continued to ink up by  useing  ink dusters and distressed ink in shades of green, purple and pink

Then I added two layers of lace to the base of the card. I then  stamped the edges with a lavinia cherry blossom stamp, which I later coloured in. I then added a die cut (tim holtz) bird cage and birds, the feathers, a flower I made some beads and the title
I am going to hang it up inn my craft room, as I like nothing better that to listen to the early morning dawn chorus, I made this tag using that as a theme
